NBC Casts Ashley Zukerman as Robert Langdon in a Series Based on Dan Brown's THE LOST SYMBOL

NBC is currently producing a new series based on Dan Brown’s novel The Lost Symbol. The series will be titled Langdon, and Ashley Zukerman (Succession) has been cast in the lead role of Robert Langdon. This character was previously played by Tom Hanks in the Ron Howard-directed films that featured the character such as The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, and Inferno.

While The Lost Symbol book is set after the events of The Da Vinci Code, this series is changing things up and will instead be a prequel story that focuses on a younger version of Langdon.

The series follows ”the early adventures of famed Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon, who finds himself pulled into a series of deadly puzzles when his mentor is kidnapped. The CIA forces him onto a task force where he uncovers a chilling conspiracy.”

Ron Howard and Brian Grazer are both returning to produce the series with Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie writing and producing. Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) will also executive produce and direct the pilot.

Does this sound like a show that you’d tune in to watch?
