The Night Court revival is officially moving forward as NBC has given it a series order. The series scored a pilot order in May and I guess the networked liked what they saw!

The series is based on the original series created by Reinhold Weege and it’s being developed by Outmatched and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt co-executive producer Dan Rubin and The Big Bang Theory’s Melissa Rauch.

The legal comedy series centers on “unapologetic optimist judge Abby Stone (Rauch), the daughter of the late Harry Stone, who follows in her father’s footsteps as she presides over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court and tries to bring order to its crew of oddballs and cynics, most notably former night court prosecutor Dan Fielding.”

David Larroquette is reprising his role as Dan in the series, and he is also a producer on the series. The show also stars Ana Villafañe (Younger), Lacretta and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist‘Kapil Talwalkar.

The series is being produced by Warner Bros. Television, Universal Television and After January. There’s no word yet on when the series will premiere but it’ll most likely be released at some point in 2022.
