Neal McDonough and Casey Cott Set To Star in The Sports Drama BLACK SPARTANS

Neal McDonough (Yellowstone, Captain America: The First Avenger) and Casey Cott (Riverdale) are set to star in the sports drama Black Spartans. The movie is being written and directed by Ben Cory Jones (Insecure), and it will be going into production in Atlanta this fall.

The film will explore “the explosive era of the mid-1960s where social upheaval paved the way for a new order in college football.” It will tell “the story of the first fully integrated college football team. The film is inspired by the Michigan State Spartans team, coached by Duffy Daugherty, which forever changed the face of the sport.”

While I don’t watch a lot of sports, I do enjoy watching great and inspiring sports movies, and this one sounds like it will tell a wonderful story that will make for a good film. McDonough is an incredibly talented actor who has played some great characters in film and TV over the years, and there’s no doubt he’ll be great in this.
