Neil Gaiman Filled Out a Mad Lib for a Husband Who Wanted to Gift It to His Wife for Their First Anniversary
This week on Jeopardy!, a contestant had a pretty fun story to tell about her first anniversary present. The game show participant, Amanda Hendrickson, a costumer from Highland Village, Texas, appeared on the May 2nd episode of the series. When it was her turn to tell a bit about herself, she explained that for her first anniversary, which is traditionally the paper anniversary, her husband sent a blank Mad Lib to their favorite author, Neil Gaiman, and asked him to fill it out for them.
Gaiman, the author of American Gods, Coraline, Stardust, The Sandman, Good Omens, and so many more, obliged, and returned the Mad Lib filled out for the couple. Hendrickson said the couple framed the prized possession and it hangs proudly in their home.
This is so cool! It’s fun to hear about when people are able to reach out to their heroes and get a response. It took Gaiman a little time and effort to fill it out and mail it back, and it made a huge impact to his fans.
If you could have something filled out by your favorite celebrity, who would you choose?
