Neill Blomkamp Releases His First Oats Studios Sci-Fi Short RAKKA and It's Awesome!
Any day where Neill Blomkamp gives the world something for free is a good day in my book. Today is no exception as the director uploaded a 20+ minute short film featuring Sigourney Weaver, aliens, and a whole lot of sci-fi craziness. Here's a description for RAKKA, which is somehow bleaker than it sounds:
RAKKA is the story of broken humanity following the invasion of a technologically superior alien species. Bleak harrowing and unrelenting, the humans we meet must find enough courage to go on fighting.
The whole project is part of a larger project from Oats Studios, who is looking for your support to fund feature films out of these unique ideas. In fact, if you're looking to donate, you can obtain some assets from this film for use in your own stuff should you choose to do so. Watch the movie and learn more about the effort here.
