Neill Blomkamp's Awesome New Sci-Fi Short Film CONVICTION Has Been Unleashed

Neill Blomkamp has made another awesome short film that you’re sure to enjoy. The film is called Conviction and it’s a live-action prequel to BioWare’s incredibly cool-looking upcoming video game Anthem. It also serves as a promo for the game.

Blomkamp has always made impressive short films and this latest one is pretty damn stunning. I love what I’m seeing in this short and it would be cool to see Blomkamp develop it as a feature-length film! The guy hasn’t made a film since Chappie in 2015, since then he’s been making lots of short films for his production company, Oats Studios.

Conviction is set decades before the the events of the beginning of Anthem and here’s a description of the game:

Upon an unfinished world, humanity struggles to survive in a savage environment full of diverse threats. Equipped with incredible Javelin exosuits, a faction known as the Freelancers seeks to tip the balance in mankind’s favor.

Blomkamp had this to say about his new short film in a statement:

“I was really blown away by this incredible world BioWare created the very first time I saw Anthem. Conviction sets the stage with a narrative that touches on Anthem’s beautiful and immersive world, which is ripe for exploration by these powerful Javelins. A world where danger is lurking on every ledge and in each valley.”

Now, watch the short film and tell us what you think!
