Netflix and ESPN Are Developing a 10-Part Michael Jordan Documentary Series

Netflix is teaming up with ESPN to produce a 10-part documentary series that focuses on NBA legend Michael Jordan. Jordan himself has approved of the new project and will also take part in it, which is cool to hear.

When I was growing up, Michael Jordan was everything. The guy was a hero to so many kids. Hell, he was the only reason why I watched basketball when I was growing up. I loved basketball, but it was around the time that Jordan left that my interest in sports started to dwindle. These days it's non-existent. But if there's a 10-part documentary series being released on Netflix for one of my all-time favorite sports stars, you can bet your ass that I'm going to watch it!

The documentary will be called The Last Dance and it will be released in 2019. The ESPN Films 30 for 30 Twitter account also posted a little promo teaser for the documentary that you can watch below.

The movie was directed by Jason Hehir (Andre the Giant), and it will explore the rise of Michael Jordan, his amazingly successful run with the 1990s Chicago Bulls which resulted in six NBA titles, and how he helped boost the popularity of the NBA. It will be interesting to see how in depth the documentary will go. But since it's a 10-part series I'm sure it will cover all major aspects of his life.
