Netflix and Marvel Pull THE PUNISHER From New York Comic Con and Paris Event Because of Las Vegas Shooting

Netflix and Marvel have canceled plans for a couple of events that were planned for their upcoming series The Punisher because of the Las Vegas shooting. They recently announced that they have pulled out of New York Comic Con and Marvel and Netflix released a joint statement on the decision, saying:

"We are stunned and saddened by this week’s senseless act in Las Vegas. After careful consideration, Netflix and Marvel have decided it wouldn’t be appropriate for Marvel’s The Punisher to participate in New York Comic Con. Our thoughts continue to be with the victims and those affected by this tragedy.”

Variety is also reporting that they have also canceled an event in Paris that was scheduled for Saturday. It was called "Nuit Noire (Black Night)" and the event was going to take place at the Cirque d’Hiver, which is a historical monument that is home to the world’s oldest permanent circus. The plan was to show the first two episodes at the event and simulcast the New York Comic-Con panel.

In a separate similar statement as the one above, Netflix and Marvel said that they had “decided it wouldn’t be appropriate for Marvel’s ‘The Punisher’ to go ahead with the Paris Nuit Noire event and to participate in New York Comic-Con.”

With the level of violence that surrounds The Punisher, it's completely understandable that they would cancel these events after this senseless and deadly tragety.
