Netflix Officially Announces FAST & FURIOUS: SPY RACERS Animated Series and There's a Teaser Trailer

Netflix is once again teaming up with DreamWorks animation for a new animated series and this one will be part of the Fast & Furious franchise. This project was first reported on about a year ago, but a lot has happened since then and Netflix has now made the official announcement with more details and a teaser trailer.

The animated series will be called Fast & Furious: Spy Racers, and it will follow Tony Toretto, the teenage younger cousin of Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto. Tony and his friends end up being recruited by the government agency to infiltrate a racing organization which is serving as a front for a nefarious crime organization bent on world domination.

The series will be produced by Tim Hedrick, who wrote for DreamWorks’ Voltron: Legendary Defender series, and Bret Haaland, who has produced DreamWorks’ animated shows like All Hail King Julien and The Penguins of Madagascar. They will also both serve as showrunners. Vin Diesel, Neal Moritz and Chris Morgan, will also serve as producers.

There’s no word on if any of the characters from the film will show up in the animated series or if it will have any ties to the film other than the main character’s relationship to Dominic.

Fast & Furious: Spy Racers will launch on Netflix sometime in 2019. Check out the teaser trailer below and let us know if it looks like the kind of show you’d want to check out.
