Netflix Announces THE GREY MAN Sequel and Spinoff Film in The Works
Joe and Anthony Russo’s action spy thriller The Grey Man was a huge hit for Netflix and it was actually a pretty awesome movie! Well, the streaming service has announced that they’re making a sequel as well as a spinoff film!
The Grey Man 2 will star Ryan Gosling and the Russo Bros. will be back to direct with co-writer Stephen McFeely set to return as well. It’s great to see that the sequel will bring back the original creative team!
As for the spinoff, that will be developed by Deadpool and Zombieland scribes Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. There’s no information on the spinoff of what character, or characters, it will focus on, but with the creative team on board developing it, we know it’s going to be a lot of fun!
When previously talking about possible sequels in the franchise, the Russos said: "It's ready-made for a franchise because it's based on a series of books. We always think that way, because we like long-form storytelling. The majority of our careers has been in long-form storytelling – all of our television work, all of our Marvel work.”
The original movie focused on Gosling playing a former CIA operative turned assassin, who's being hunted down by his former CIA colleague, Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans). The movie also stars Ana de Armas, Regé-Jean Page, Jessica Henwick, Alfre Woodard, and Billy Bob Thornton.
