Netflix has picked up the rights to the space-set thriller Stowaway, starring Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense, Little Miss Sunshine, Hereditary) and Anna Kendrick (Up In the Air, Pitch Perfect, 50/50), as well as Daniel Dae Kim (Lost, Hawaii Five-0) and Shamier Anderson (Soulmates, Bruised). The film is directed by Joe Penna from a script he wrote alongside Ryan Morrison. The pair have worked together previously on the film Arctic, as well as the series Release.

Here’s the synopsis:

Stowaway charts how, on a mission to Mars, an unintended stowaway (Anderson) accidentally causes severe damage to the spaceship’s life-support systems. Facing dwindling resources and a potentially grim outcome, a medical researcher (Kendrick) emerges as the only dissenting voice against the clinical logic of both her commander (Collette) and the ship’s biologist (Kim).

A release date has not been revealed, but the film is set to hit the streamer in early 2021. I like the cast, so I am interested in giving this movie a shot. What do you think?
