Netflix is Developing a New CARMEN SANDIEGO Animated Series!
She sneaks around the world from Kiev to Carolina, she's a sticky-fingered filcher from Berlin down to Belize. She's been off the air for years except for reruns in China... where in the world is Carmen Sandiego!? Well, I'll tell you. She's coming to Netflix.
That's right the world's greatest criminal (suck it Moriarty) is on the rise once again to steal random artifacts that serve no purpose but as historical mementos. But I am pumped. I was a huge fan as a child from the doo-wop theme and reality series part to when they made an action adventure animated show. I would like to think any and all knowledge I have the world and the United States is due to this TV show and video game. Ya, I played them too.
Netflix has ordered an animated series of Carmen Sandiego and they've cast Gina Rodriguez from the series Jane the Virgin to play the titular thief. It is estimated to have a 20 episode first season.
Netflix, you just get me. Sometimes, I wish you were a woman I could marry. First, you bring back Arrested Development. Then you bring back Mystery Science Theater 3000. And now, this? All I need to hear now is you are bringing new episodes of Animaniacs and Freakazoid, and I'd be ready to swear loyalty to you forever.
It will be fun to see how the new series decides to play with the character and if Acme agents will return to stop her.
