Netflix is Developing a RESIDENT EVIL Series!
Big news for all the Resident Evil fans! Netflix has announced that they are developing a series based on the classic Capcom video game horror franchise!
I’m actually pretty stoked about this! I’ve always thought that Resident Evil would make for a great series and with Netflix behind the production, it’s safe to say that we’re most likely going to get a quality show.
Constantine Film, who was behind the original film franchise is also on board to develop it. There was talk of a Resident Evil movie reboot, but there’s no word on if that is still happening or not, but I like the idea of a series much better. They are currently looking for a showrunner to lead the production.
Deadline reports that the series will “expand the Resident Evil universe and deepen the exciting mythology.” They go on to say that the series will keep “the basic premise, which also served as a setup for the movie franchise. The drama series will explore the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T-Virus.”
The series is also “expected to incorporate all of Resident Evil’s signature elements, including action sequences and easter eggs.”
