Netflix is Raising Its Prices Again

TVMovie Netflix by Joey Paur

As you know, Netflix is continuing to dominate Hollywood with all of the original series and films that it produces. They are producing a ridiculous amount of projects and a lot of them aren’t cheap to make. They are spending a lot of money on these things and they have to pay for it.

The best way to help cover those costs is to raise the subscription price on the subscribers. I know a lot of people might complain about the price hike, but we all knew it was going to eventually come when we signed up for the service.

TV Line reports that the Basic plan will rise from $8 to $9. The HD standard. The HD play will go up from $11 to $13 a month, and the most expensive plan is the 4K Premium, which will increase from $14 to $16. It’s not too bad of a raise in prices, but as of January 2019, the price hike is effective immediately.

Netflix has explained that, “We change pricing from time to time as we continue investing in great entertainment and improving the overall Netflix experience.”

As long as they keep delivering great entertainment and they don’t get too nuts on the pricing, I’ll stick with them. After they raised the princes in 2017, there was a drop in new subscribers. I imagine that will happen again with the latest change in pricing.

What is the price point that will price you out and make you want to drop Netflix?
