Netflix is Testing a New Feature That Plays Random Episodes of Shows

Have you ever sat down and decided you wanted to watch an episode of one of your favorite shows, but you weren’t sure which episode to watch? I have. Well, Netflix wants to help viewers by introducing a random episode feature. This feature is currently being tested by select users of the Android app. On the main menu, there’s a section titled Play a Popular Episode that will essentially play a random episode for you as seen below:

Netflix told Variety:

“We are testing the ability for members to play a random episode from different TV series on the Android mobile app. These tests typically vary in length of time and by region, and may not become permanent.”

I would actually love this button for some shows like The I.T. Crowd where there are a fair number of great episodes and the order doesn’t really matter.
