Netflix Lands Deal to Adapt Sci-Fi Thriller Short Story I AM NOT ALONE With Jessica Chastain Set to Star
The Oscars post-parties were abuzz with talk of a hot new project, the short story “I Am Not Alone,” getting picked up by Netflix for a feature adaptation. The sci-fi thriller will be directed by Lovecraft Country’s Misha Green, who is also set to adapt the script. Oscar-winner Jessica Chastain (Molly’s Game, The Eyes of Tammy Faye) will star in the film.
The 22-page short story begins with the prologue: “I began seeing the creatures about a week before Zoe’s visit.” Not giving too much away, the story centers around a mother of a young daughter whose life unravels when she suffers unbearable migraines that cause her to hallucinate as she begins to see creatures. It is the template for a grounded sci-fi story about a mother forced to defend her family against a threat only she can see.
This sounds like an interesting story with awesome talent on board. We will keep you updated as the project develops.
