Netflix Officially Renews 13 REASONS WHY For Season 2
Netflix has officially renewed 13 Reason Why for a second season. This comes as no big surprise because the controversial series seemed to be a big hit. According to THR, Season 2 will consist of 13 more hour-long episodes and it will premiere in 2018.
There aren't a lot of details on Season 2, but according to the report, it "picks up in the aftermath of Hannah Baker's (Katherine Langford) death and the start of the characters' complicated journeys toward healing and recovery."
There's no word on if Hannah will play a part in the second season but it sounds like she will. I think as we continue to dive into the story and these characters, we will continue to see flashbacks of the events that occurred prior to her committing suicide. When previously talking about where the series would go after season one, show runner Brian Yorkey said:
"Hannah's story is still very much not finished. She's an integral part of whatever the next chapter of the story is, and she's very much still at the center of it."
I actually liked the first season of the show and it opened up some interesting and good discussions with friends and family. I know a lot of people aren't very happy with the subject matter and how it was presented and I can definitely understand that.
