Netflix has made a seven-figure deal to acquire Mark Wahlberg’s upcoming film project titled Our Man From Jersey. The movie comes from Safe House writer David Guggenheim (Designated Survivor, Christmas Chronicles), and it’s described as “a blue collar 007” movie.

Unfortunately, there’s no other information on the story or film to share with you. Wahlberg and his producing partner Stephen Levinson recently worked on Spenser Confidential, for Netflix, and they obviously want to continue that creative relationship with the streaming service.

According to Deadline, Wahlberg and Levinson have been having a lot of FaceTime meetings with writers, and one of them was with Guggenheim. Once they talked to him and he shared his take on the story, it all “quickly clicked,” and they handed in “a 36-page outline and the deal resulted from that”.

The past few Mark Wahlberg films have been pretty mediocre. The last movie that I saw him in that I actually liked was Patriots Day back in 2016. Hopefully, this next film project will be better than what he’s been delivering the past few years.
