Netflix Releases Trailer For Mark Millar's Comic Book THE MAGIC ORDER
In case you forgot, last year Netflix acquired Mark Millar's comic book publishing company Millerworld and on top of producing series and films that will also produce comic books. They are launching their first comic called The Magic Order and you can watch a trailer that the released for it below. It looks fascinating!
I'm a long time fan of Millar's comic book work and I'm always looking out to see what he does next. The guy certainly knows how to hook his readers! The trailer for this first comic under Netflix teases the story of a group of magicians who are being killed off one by one. Here’s the comic’s official synopsis:
We live in a world where we’ve never seen a monster and these people are the reason we sleep safely in our beds. Magic meets the mob in The Magic Order, as five families of magicians sworn to protect our world for generations must battle an enemy who’s picking them off one by one. By day they live among us as our neighbors, friends and co-workers, but by night they are the sorcerers, magicians and wizards that protect us from the forces of darkness…unless the darkness gets them first.
As a huge fan of magic, a story like this that revolves around a group of magicians is something that definitely perks my interest. The Magic Order is being written by Millar and the art is being done by Marvel veteran Olivier Coipel (Thor, The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man). They seem to have created a compelling world that I'll gladly dive into!
The series will be six issues long and will be available for sale in comic book stores starting on June 13, 2018.
