Netflix Renews LOCKE & KEY for a Second Season!
Netflix’s first season of the supernatural horror series Locke & Key was a lot of fun! My kids and I enjoyed watching it, and I’m happy to report that the streaming service has renewed it for a second season!
The series is based on Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s IDW comic book. It’s been in development at various studios and networks over the past several years. It finally landed at Netflix where they actually ended up delivering a great show! If you haven’t watched it yet, it’s worth checking out!
The story revolves around three siblings, Tyler (Connor Jessup), Kinsey (Emilia Jones), and Bode (Jackson Robert Scott), who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Massachusetts only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. Little do they know, a devious demon also wants the keys, and will stop at nothing to attain them.
Co-showrunners Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill said in a statement:
“We are thrilled to be continuing the journey of ‘Locke & Key’ alongside all of our amazing collaborators. We are grateful to Netflix for all their support, especially at this difficult time, and look forward to bringing you the exciting next chapter of our story.”
Netflix vice president of originals Brian Wright added:
“‘Locke & Key’ captivated audiences around the world at every twist and turn. We are so proud to have been part of this show and can’t wait to see all that Carlton Cuse, Meredith Averill, and the entire creative team have in store for season two.”
We don’t know when the show will return for Season 2. While many of the film and TV productions are currently shut down, the creative team can at least get to work on writing the scripts!
Are you excited to learn that Locke & Key is coming back for a second season?
