Netflix Renews Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin's THE KOMINSKY METHOD for Third and Final Season
Netflix has renewed its critically acclaimed comedy series The Kominsky Method for a third and final season. The series stars Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin, and it’s an incredibly enjoyable show that I suggest you watch if you haven’t already.
The series was created by Chuck Lorre and follows actor and acting coach Sandy Kominsky (Douglas) and his agent Norman Newlander (Arkin), who are two friends “trying to navigate their later years in Los Angeles, a city that values youth and beauty.”
These are a couple of great characters, and I’m happy to see that we are going to get to see their story continue with one more season. Lorre said in a statement:
“’The Kominsky Method’ has been a true passion project for me and it’s been an incredible experience to see the warm response from both audiences and critics. I’m excited to wrap up the story with this final chapter.”
When previously talking about the inspiration behind the show, Lore said:
“I wanted to write about getting older and all that that entails. I wanted to write about people losing loved ones and dealing with health issues and grown children. I found this wonderful avenue through Netflix where there were no ratings restrictions and they were totally supportive. I could write without looking over my shoulder.”
The series picked up a handful of awards for its first season, including the Golden Globe for best comedy series in 2019. Douglas also won the Globe for best actor in a comedy series that same year.
