Netflix has released the news that their gritty hit series Ozark will be released for a fourth season, which, unfortunately for fans, will also be the last. The show followed the dark tale of the Byrde family, played by Jason Bateman, who also directed several episodes of the series, Laura Linney, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, and their cohorts along the way, played by Julia Garner, Lisa Emery, Charlie Tahan, Jordana Spiro, Jason Butler Harner, and Peter Mullan.

The third season was released back at the end of March, just as the stay-at-home orders had begun across the nation, giving fans a chance to catch up on the series. After an insane third season ending, fans are looking forward to another great season to round the show out. The final season will come in the form of 14 episodes, split into two 7 episode parts.

Bateman said of the final season order:

“A super-sized season means super-sized problems for the Byrdes. I’m excited to end with a bang(s).”

Chris Mundy, who is returning as showrunner, writer and executive producer, said:

“We’re so happy Netflix recognized the importance of giving Ozark more time to end the Byrdes’ saga right. It’s been such a great adventure for all of us — both on screen and off — so we’re thrilled to get the chance to bring it home in the most fulfilling way possible.

Cindy Holland, VP of Original Content added:

Ozark is a gripping drama that has captivated audiences all around the world and garnered tremendous critical acclaim. We’re so grateful to Chris, Jason, Laura, Julia and the entire cast and crew for all their tireless dedication to the show and can’t wait to see how the Byrdes’ journey comes to a close.”

Indeed. It’s too bad when our favorite shows come to a close, but the best-case scenario is when everyone knows in advance, and they can plan to end the series the right way. What would you like to see happen for the Byrde family as the series comes to a close?
