Netflix Renews Ryan Murphy's Serial Killer Anthology Series MONSTER for Two More Seasons

Netflix is so pleased with the success of Ryan Murphy’s Jefferey Dahmer series Monster that they have ordered two more seasons of the anthology series and each season will focus on “other monstrous figures who have impacted society.” They’ve also renewed Murphy’s The Watcher for a second season.

The first season of Monster, which is titled Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, was a really good show that told the disturbing story of the infamous serial killer Dahmer. But, it’s not as good as David Fincher’s Mindhunter, which is an incredible show! I’d much rather see MIndhunter continue over Monster, but Netflix is just doing its thing. As for The Watcher, it was an ok first season, and I’m not really interested in a second.

Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s head of global TV said in a statement: “Audiences can’t take their eyes off Monster and The Watcher. The creative team of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan on Monster along with Eric Newman on The Watcher are masterful storytellers who captivated audiences all over the world. The back-to-back force of these two series is due to Ryan’s distinct original voice which created cultural sensations and we are thrilled to continue telling stories in the Monster and Watcher universes.”

Evan Peters played Dahmer in Monster and starred alongside Richard Jenkins, Molly Ringwald, Michael Learned, and Niecy Nash.

The Watcher is loosely based on a true story and follows a family that moves into their dream home only to begin receiving mysterious letters from someone calling themselves The Watcher. The first season starred Naomi Watts, Bobby Cannavale, Jennifer Coolidge, and Mia Farrow.

Are you happy to learn that these shows have been renewed for more seasons?
