Netflix Reveals Release Date for the Upcoming RESIDENT EVIL Series and Teaser Posters
Netflix has released three teaser posters for its upcoming live-action Resident Evil series, and it reveals the show will premiere this summer on July 14th. We still don’t have any footage to share, but I’m sure that will come soon as the marketing for the series is about to kick into gear.
The series stars Lance Reddick as Albert Wesker, and the story is set in the year 2036, “14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father's chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie."
This is a very different direction for the franchise as it will explore a completely different setting using the familiar events and details of the franchise. I’m a big fan of the Resident Evil franchise, and I’m curious to see how this turns out. It can’t be any worse than the last movie that was released.
The live-action Resident Evil series also stars Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, Paola Nuñez, Ahad Raza Mir, Connor Gossatti, and Turlough Convery. Andrew Dabb (Supernatural) serves as showrunner, executive producer, and writer with Mary Leah Sutton as executive producer and writer.
