Netflix Set to Make Series Based On Elsie Silver's CHESTNUT SPRINGS Books With Shawn Levy Producing

Netflix has landed the rights to develop a series version of Elsie Silver’s Chestnut Springs novels, with Hannah Schneider (The Waterfront, Accused) attached to adapt the books for the screen, while Shawn Levy will executive produce via 21 Laps Entertainment under the company’s TV overall deal with Netflix.

There have been five Chestnut Springs book to date — “Flawless,” “Heartless,” “Powerless,” “Reckless,” and “Hopeless.”

The description of the books states, “A series set against the breathtaking backdrop of small-town Canada, following siblings as they navigate their family-owned ranch and embark upon turbulent, emotional, and at times spicy, journeys toward finding love.”

This is the second attempt at an adaptation of Silver’s novels to be announced in recent months. Amazon is developing a series version of Silver’s Rose Hill novels.

The Chestnut Springs novels alone have sold over 10 million copies worldwide. In addition to the books in the Rose Hill and Chestnut Springs books, Silver has also published four Gold Rush Ranch novels.

“Wild Card,” the fourth Rose Hill book, was just released on September 9th.
