Netflix's 13 REASONS WHY Gets a Teaser Trailer and a Release Date - The Tapes Were Just The Beginning

Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for their second season of 13 Reasons Why. This is one of those shows I unexpectedly completely got hooked on. There was a lot of controversy surrounding the series due to its subject matter but it was a well-made show that, I thought, carried a powerful message.

Based on the best-selling books by Jay Asher, the Netflix Original Series 13 Reasons Why follows Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) as he returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker—his classmate and crush—who tragically committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Will Clay be one of them?

Season 2 picks up "in the aftermath of Hannah’s death and the start of our characters’ complicated journeys toward healing and recovery. Liberty High prepares to go on trial, but someone will stop at nothing to keep the truth surrounding Hannah’s death concealed. A series of ominous polaroids lead Clay and his classmates to uncover a sickening secret and a conspiracy to cover it up." Hense all the polaroids in the teaser trailer.

In preparation for the launch of Season 2, new resources will be added to 13ReasonsWhy.info, including an updated Discussion Guide and a new Discussion Series – a set of videos where cast address issues in the series including bullying, sexual assault and drug abuse.

13 Reasons Why Season 2 will be released on Netflix on May 18th,
