Netflix's Animated Series PACIFIC RIM: THE BLACK Gets a Teaser Trailer and Premiere Date

Netflix has released a new teaser trailer for its upcoming animated series Pacific Rim: The Black. It’s also been announced that this new chapter of Pacific Rim premieres on March 4.

The project comes from Legendary Entertainment (Kong: Skull Island; Pokemon: Detective Pikachu), and it’s being developed by co-showrunners Craig Kyle (Thor: Ragnarok) and Greg Johnson (X-Men: Evolution).

The series will expand the world that was built for the live-action film franchise. The story follows two siblings, an idealistic teenage boy and his naïve younger sister, who are forced to pilot an abandoned Jaeger across a hostile landscape in a desperate attempt to find their missing parents.

Here’s a synopsis that was previously shared offing a few additional details:

There was a time when Kaiju rose from the Pacific Rim only to encounter gigantic robots, Jaegers, built to fight them back. That time has passed. Now, Australia has been overrun by Kaiju, forcing the evacuation of an entire continent. Left behind, teenage siblings Taylor and Hayley embark on a desperate search for their missing parents, teaching themselves to pilot a battered, long-abandoned Jaeger to help in their quest and give them even the slightest hope of surviving.

This has some potential to be a cool series that fans of the franchise will enjoy, and I’m looking forward to checking it out. Watch the trailer below and let us know what you think!
