Netflix announced that its anime series Blood of Zeus is getting a second season! I’m not really surprised by the news as the first season of Blood of Zeus was a pretty big hit with fans. It was actually a really good show, I enjoyed the story.

For those of you not familiar, the series offers a new take on Greek Mythology and the story follows “a young hero, an ancient bloodline, and the war of the Gods.” If you’re a fan of Greek mythology, you’ll probably dig it.

In a brewing war between the gods of Olympus and the titans, Heron, a commoner living on the outskirts of ancient Greece, becomes mankind's best hope of surviving an evil demon army, when he discovers the secrets of his past.

Heron is the illegitimate son of Zeus, and he holds the power to defeat the demons and evil that are threatening to overtake the Heavens and the Earth. But, a vengeful goddess will try to destroy him to stop him from saving mankind.

The series was created by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides and director Shaunt Nigoghossian and when teasing what Season 2 could explore, Nigoghossian told CB, "[Charley and Vlas Parlapanides] have quite a lot of things going on. They are ready to go. There's a Medusa story. I don't know if I can say that."

Charley Parlapanides also teased that we'll be seeing more of the other gods such as Athena, "Someone keeps asking why they don't see Athena. And the idea is, listen- Actually, we do. We would spend five seasons and we see her, there are shots of her, but it would be a five seasons story. And we definitely have a very detailed 20 page outline for season two worked out."

Have you watched Blood of Zeus? If so, are you happy to learn that there will be a second season?
