Hilary Swank Joins Matt Reeve's Netflix Series AWAY

Hilary Swank has joined another TV project, this time though with Netflix. The series is a space drama called Away from Jason Katims (Parenthood) and Matt Reeves (The Batman) with Ed Zwick (Glory, The Last Samurai) directing the pilot. It is said that Away is “loosely inspired” by Chris Jones’ story of the same name.

“Away centers on Emma Green, an American astronaut who must leave her husband and teenage daughter behind to command an international space crew embarking on a treacherous mission. The drama explores hope, humanity and how people need one another in order to achieve the impossible.”

Jessica Goldberg will serve as showrunner with the first episode being written by Andrew Hinderaker. No release date has been provided yet.
