Netflix's THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY Season 2 is Still On Track

The Umbrella Academy Season 2 has already completed principle photography and it’s currently in post-production. As you know, a lot of film and TV productions have shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic, but despite that, the second season of this series is still on track!

Showrunner Steve Blackman posted an image of himself and the crew on Instagram doing a little editing. The team is keeping their distance as they finish up the show.

It seems they’re keeping that distance as they continue to finish up the show. Blackman shared, “Even #corona can’t stop an Umbrella Academy Mix! But I swear we’re washing our hands... @umbrellaacad #purell @umbrellaacademylat @netflix #netflix”

The Umbrella Academy is based off of the graphic novel created by My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba. When talking about helping out with the series, Way said:

"What I did for Steve Blackman (the showrunner) and the writers in that first writers' room was to create an eighteen-page document that laid everything out. Even of the graphic novels that haven't come out yet. Which should equal eight when we're all done. So I gave them the blueprint what happens because you do want to seed certain things in there for future series and the hope is that it's a success so that you do a lot more of these. They're very curious what Gabriel [Ba] and I are doing next. We always send them the new comics. They really want to know what's happening."

The story chronicles a group of adopted siblings who reunite after their billionaire adoptive father’s death to figure out the mystery of how he died. In the process, they stumble upon an apocalyptic threat.
