Netflix's Western THE HARDER THEY FALL Seems to Be Getting a Sequel
Back in 2021, Netflix released a Western film titled The Harder They Fall, which is a great movie that had some strong viewing numbers for the streaming service. Well, when a fan commented on social media wishing there was a second movie in the works, the director of the film, Jeymes Samuel, responded, saying, “There is.” So, that’s cool!
The first movie has an impressive ensemble cast, which included Regina King, Idris Elba, LaKeith Stanfield, Jonathan Majors, Zazie Beetz, R.J. Cyler, and Delroy Lindo.
In the film, “When outlaw Nat Love (Majors) discovers that his enemy Rufus Buck (Elba) is being released from prison he rounds up his gang to track Rufus down and seek revenge. Those riding with him in this assured, righteously new school Western include his former love Stagecoach Mary (Beetz), his right and left hand men — hot-tempered Bill Pickett (Gathegi) and fast drawing Jim Beckwourth (Cyler)—and a surprising adversary-turned-ally. Rufus Buck has his own fearsome crew, including “Treacherous” Trudy Smith (King) and Cherokee Bill (Stanfield), and they are not a group that knows how to lose. Revenge has never been served colder.”
The first film doesn’t really leave the story open to a sequel, but the director obviously has another story that he wants to tell, and it will be interesting to see what that story ends up being. As you might imagine, there are no other details that were shared, but are you excited to learn that we’re getting a sequel to The Harder They Fall?
