Neve Campbell Rumored to Play Polaris in X-MEN Movie or X-MEN '97

It looks like Neve Campbell might be joining one of two X-Men projects in development at Marvel Studios. According to scooper MyTimeToShineHello, the Scream icon has reportedly been cast as Polaris in Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men movie.

But, in another report from CBM, Campbell is said to be providing the voice of Polaris in Season 2 of X-Men '97. It seems like this might be more likely, but regardless, nothing has been made official.

Campbell, of course, is best known for her role as Sidney Prescott in the Scream franchise. She’s reprising her role in Scream 7, which is currently set for a February 2026 release.

As for the character Polaris, she debuted in X-Men #49 back in 1968. Created by Arnold Drake and Jim Steranko, she’s the daughter of Magneto and has magnetic powers similar to her father’s.

Fans last saw a version of the character in Fox’s The Gifted, a Marvel series that ran for two seasons, and the character was played by Emma Dumont. But, this new incarnation would mark Polaris’s debut in the MCU timeline.

The X-Men film is being written by Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes writer Michael Lesslie, with Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier reportedly in early talks to helm the project. It’s expected to arrive sometime after Avengers: Secret Wars, though Marvel hasn’t revealed a release window.

As for X-Men ‘97, Season 2 is still in development and it’s expected to be released at some point in 2026.

Until something is made official, this casting remains in rumor territory, but would you be into seeing Neve Campbell join the MCU as Polaris?
