New Animated Film Project STRAY DOGS is Described as SILENCE OF THE LAMBS Meets LADY AND THE TRAMP
Paramount Pictures is developing an animated film adaptation of the upcoming horror comic book series Stray Dogs. The details regarding the story are being kept on a tight leash, but it’s described as “Silence of the Lambs meets Lady and the Tramp.” That unexpected description certainly perked my interest.
The film is being developed by Game Night screenwriter Mark Perez and producer Gary Dauberman, who has worked on Annabelle and the It movies will produce. The comic itself was created by Tony Fleecs and Trish Forstner.
Dauberman talked about the project in a statement, saying:
“So much of what makes horror work is taking something innocent and twisting it into something scary. Like a doll in Annabelle. Or a clown in It. And that’s what we want to do in Stray Dogs: take animation and twist it into something terrifying by using it to explore a really dark story. For me, the project combines a lot of my passions: animation, horror and, well, dogs.”
I’m totally up for this! This sounds like a fun concept and I love that Paramount is actually going to attempt to make a terrifying animated horror movie! I hope that they can actually pull this off and deliver something fun, scary, and unique.
Image Comics will release Stray Dogs in 2021.
