New ASSASSIN'S CREED Poster Presents a Kaleidoscope of Ancestors
From what we've seen so far in the trailers, Assassin's Creed seems to only take place in two time periods: the "near" future and, thanks the Animus a machine that lets you relive the memories of ancestors, 15th century Spain. The recently released poster looks like we might see more time periods across multiple ancestors. In the video game they only focus on one ancestor at a time. Obviously the movie is going to need to compress things a bit. This makes me wonder if what we've seen in the trailers only scratches the surface.
Mid to late December has Rogue One on the 16th and Assassin's Creed going head-to-head with Passengers on December 21st. Rogue One will easily be #1 two weeks in a row. I sadly think that Assassin's Creed will lose out to the star power of Passengers. I really think Assassin's Creed should have opened in early December. I hope the movie doesn't continue the trend of lackluster box office receipts for movies based on video games.
