New AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER Animated Projects Will Feature a New Animation Style
As you know, there are a few new Avatar: The Last Airbender animated projects in development at Nickelodeon. The franchise is expanding in some big and exciting ways and when these new projects are made, they will include a new animation style. The creative team is looking to create a new aesthetic for its next series.
The update comes from a few new job listings geared toward Avatar Studios, which were posted on Avatar News. There are positions open for applicants that will be tasked with creating new 2D-CG animation for the franchise.
One of these new jobs is a Pipeline TD, which is being sought after to help support story, art, production, and editorial teams. And as for their primary job, the talent hired will be tasked with developing and maintaining "an outstanding and customized look for the show that will require the integration of traditional 2D and CG elements."
We’ve seen some really cool 2D-CG animation styles in the past few years in projects such as Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and most recently the League of Legends animated series, Arcane.
I’ve always enjoyed the animation style for Avatar: The Last Airbender, but I’m open to seeing that style evolve into something new and different. It’ll definitely be interesting and cool to see what this new style will end up being.
