New Banner Photo From TOY STORY 5 Reveals New Look at Buzz and Woody in the Sequel

Disney has released a new photo banner from the upcoming Pixar sequel Toy Story 5, which features two of the main characters of the franchise that are returning slightly altered from their usual looks.

While they seem just the same at first glance, you’ll notice upon a deeper look that the sheriff’s badge worn by Woody in the first films is missing, as he gave it to Jessie in the fourth film. Also, Buzz is wearing a gold star sticker over his Lightyear logo on his chest.

It’s not a huge change, but it’s fun to see the characters back in action with those little nods to their continuity. Tim Allen is returning to reprise his role as Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear in the film, and he recently appeared on Live with Kelly and Mark, giving fans a small but exciting tease of what’s coming.

"It's such a great story. I can only tell a little bit of it," Allen said. "It's a Jessie story, Tom and I have to reunite, and there's just the funniest thing, because there's a whole bunch of Buzzes involved.

“And there's a reason why there's a whole bunch of me, so there's 100 of me in a separate story, and I'm having so much fun."

Toy Story 4 ended with Woody (Tom Hanks) staying behind with Bo Peep (Annie Potts) and the lost toys while Buzz and Jessie (Joan Cusack) went back to Bonnie.

Returning cast members also include Ernie Hudson as Combat Carl, Tony Hale as Forky, and Conan O'Brien as Smarty Pants. And in the sequel, Bonnie is getting a new gadget: a tablet called Lilypad, voiced by Anna Faris.

Toy Story 5 is set to hit theatres on June 19, 2026.
