New BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SEIRES Board Game Revealed – ENEMIES OF GOTHAM CITY
There have been countless versions of Batman across movies, TV, and games, but one interpretation still towers over the rest for a lot of fans. Batman: The Animated Series set a standard that hasn’t really been touched, and decades later it’s still the version many people measure everything else against.
Now that legendary animated universe is getting a new tabletop game, and it sounds like an absolute blast for fans who love Gotham’s rogues more than its caped crusader.
The newly revealed game is titled Batman: The Animated Series: Enemies of Gotham City, and it drops players right into that classic world. Designed and developed by Upper Deck, the game flips the usual Batman perspective.
Instead of playing as the Dark Knight, 2 to 5 players step into the roles of Gotham’s most dangerous villains. The goal is simple and ruthless. Burn down districts, seize territory, rack up cash, and try not to get shut down by Batman and his allies along the way.
Enemies of Gotham City lives up to its name by putting villain-on-villain chaos front and center. Each player controls one of 12 iconic bad guys, all with their own special abilities and signature weapons that shape how they take over Gotham.
Upper Deck recently showed off the board, the Arkham Dice Tower, and an early look at the Joker, and if DC villains are your thing, this game is for you.
Every villain plays differently, which gives the game a lot of personality. The Mad Hatter can shove other villains out of districts and replace their goons with his own. Two-Face leans hard into chance, forcing you to flip his coin and live with either a helpful bonus or a painful setback.
Poison Ivy spreads greenhouses across the city, boosting the districts she controls. Mr. Freeze swaps fire for ice, and once something is frozen, other villains can’t burn it down.
Clayface brings a bit of chaos by copying another villain’s main weapon, while Penguin and Bane are more focused on building wealth and brute-force control. The Joker fully embraces madness by sending goons straight to Arkham Asylum, disrupting plans and sowing disorder across the board.
The full villain lineup is stacked with fan favorites. Players can choose from The Mad Hatter, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Bane, The Penguin, Clayface, Red Claw, Mr. Freeze, Harley Quinn, Scarecrow, Joker, and Ra’s al Ghul. What really sells it is the art.
The artwork was obviously designed to match the show’s style. The result is a game that feels authentic without simply recycling old assets, and it looks awesome on the table.
There’s no release date yet, but Enemies of Gotham City looks like it’ll be a lot of fun!
