New BUMBLEBEE Featurette Focuses on The Generation One Transformers Designs

Paramount Pictures has shared a new featurette for their upcoming Bumblebee movie. This featurette puts the focus on new designs for the Transformers and how since the film is set in the 80s, they wanted to give the characters the classic generation one designs.

If you look at around the 0:38 mark, in the background you can see Ironhide and Ratchet in their gen 1 designs. Then around the 0:39 mark you can see Arcee, Wheeljack and Cliffjumper. You’ll probably have to pause the video to see them, but they’re there.

This is one of the many things that I like about what I’ve seen from this movie. The designs are awesome, but it actually looks like we are also going to get a great story!

I couldn’t be more excited about this film and I’m rooting for its success.

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town.

Here’s the synopsis:

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.

It was also revealed that Bumblebee has escaped from Cybertron to Earth and he's being hunted down by a Decepticon jet named Blitzwing.

We also learned that two other Decepticon villains, Shatter and Dropkick, who are voiced by Angela Basset and Justin Theroux are also hunting Bumblebee, and they team up with the U.S. military to try to catch him, which is where John Cena comes in. These characters are triple-changer transformers! They turn into muscle cars, as well as a Harrier jet and helicopter.

Bumblebee opens December 21, 2018.
