New BUMBLEBEE Poster Art and New Details on the Story, Villains, and a Big Cameo in the Film

Paramount Pictures released a new piece of poster art for the upcoming Transformers spinoff film Bumblebee and during their panel at Comic-Con, they revealed some cool new information on the story, the villains, and another transformer that will be making a cameo appearance in the film.

This actually ended up being a really fun panel that showed off some extremely cool new footage from the movie. This movie explodes with the spirit of the original animated series and fans are going to love this movie. Even if you're a hater of the Transformers franchise, this is just going to be a great film that you won't want to miss.

As you already know, the story is set in the 1980s and even though the movie will focus on Bumblebee, it will also include lots of other elements from the franchise. Director Travis Knight confirmed that part of the story will be set on Cybertron, and there will be plenty of nods to the franchise. Hell, they started the whole panel off with a live performance of "The Touch" by Stan Bush, which was from the original 1986 Transformers: The Movie.

We learn from the footage that was screened that Bumblebee has escaped from Cybertron to Earth and he's being hunted down by a Decepticon jet. We thought this jet from the trailers was Starscream, but it's not. Knight confirmed that this is Blitzwing.

We see Blitzwing and Bumblebee get into a wicked brutal fight and Blitzwing beats the crap out of Bumblebee, before Bumblebee shuts down, though, he catches a glimpse of a yellow beetle, and that’s where Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld) comes in. She gets the car for herself for her birthday and the story begins.

We learned that two other Decepticons, Shatter and Dropkick, who are voiced by Angela Basset and Justin Theroux are hunting also Bumblebee, and they team up with the U.S. military to try to catch him, which is where John Cena comes in. One of the cool things about these characters is that they are triple-changer transformers! They turn into muscle cars, as well as a Harrier jet and helicopter.

At one point in the trailer, Charlie asks Bee if he has friends who can help him and he puts up a hologram and that hologram is of a G1 version of Optimus Prime!

We don't know what Prime will have to do with the story but I hope that he shows up and plays some kind of roll in the story! Peter Cullen did show up at the panel for a little fun, so... maybe!

Bumblebee will be released in the U.S. on December 21, 2018.
