New CAPTAIN MARVEL Promo Art and Toy Packaging Offers Character Details

Some new promo art and action figure packaging has surfaced online for Captain Marvel, offering a new look at certain characters and also offering some details on them.

The characters that are included are Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), Goose the cat, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), and another confirmation of Jude Law’s mysterious character.

First up, the promo art:

Now on to the action figure packaging. Some of these might contain spoilers. Specifically, the character that Jude Law plays:

Carol Danvers becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes, Captain Marvel, when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.

Talos, perhaps the most cunning spy in all of the Skrull Empire, is a master of shapeshifting and intergalactic espionage. An integral leader in the bitter Kree-Skrull War, the fearsome Talos will do whatever it takes to protect his own.

In the years following the Cold War, Nick Fury wrestles with his sense of purpose within S.H.I.E.L.D. When Nick crosses paths with Captain Marvel, they become Earth's only hope of stopping a Skrull invasion.

I wonder if the whole Cold War reveal will connect him to Black Widow.

The film is set in 1995 and follows Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot whose DNA is fused with that of an alien during an accident. The resulting alteration imbues her with the superpowers of strength, energy projection, and flight. The Skrulls will also play a major part of the story.

Captain Marvel is being directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Mississippi Grind)The most recent script comes from Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Tomb Raider). The movie is set to be released on March 8th, 2019.

Leader of the Starforce team, Yon-Rogg is a hero among the Kree and a key asset to the Supreme Intelligence in the war against the Skrulls.

We’ve heard this before, but then there was word he was actually playing Mar-Vell, but now there’s the Yon-Rogg confirmation again. If this is true, Law could end up being the true villain of the story even though Marvel has been marketing him as an heroic ally to Carol Danvers.

Yon-Rogg will most likely be the bigger threat to Earth than Ben Mendelsohn's Talos and the Skrulls. I’ve said before that I’ve heard Captain Marvel will end up helping the Skrulls in the film and not fighting against them.
