New Character for STAR WARS REBELS - Feisty Weapons Expert Sabine
As fall of this year draws closer, Disney is going to be giving little insights into the world of their show Star Wars Rebels. THR released an exclusive image of one of the main characters of the show. Her name is Sabine.
She will be voiced by Tiya Sircar (Walking with Dinosaurs, The Internship), and this is what the report had to say about the character:
She is a Mandalorian, and is described as "sassy," "spunky," "feisty" and has "a little bit of attitude." She has an expert's knowledge of weapons and arms, with an affinity for blowing things up. "She does it with flair," Sircar says of Sabine, who also moonlights as a graffiti artist.
For those of you who aren’t familiar, another famous Mandalorian was Boba Fett. Fortunately for the Rebellion, this Mando is an enemy of the Empire. Here is a synopsis of what you can expect:
Star Wars Rebels takes place between Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, which spans about two decades. The animated series is set "in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape."
All in all, this looks like it will be a pretty cool animated series. This fall there will be an hour long movie on the Disney channel to kick things off, then the series will begin on Disney XD shortly after.
