New Clip For HBO’s Charlotte’s Web Three-Part Animated Special Along With Premiere Date
HBO Max is bringing a classic back to life this fall. The streamer has announced that its new three-part animated special Charlotte’s Web, based on E.B. White’s beloved novel, will premiere in full on Thursday, October 2, exclusively on HBO Max.
We also have a new clip for you to watch that teases the heartwarming story of Wilbur the pig and his friendship with the wise spider, Charlotte.
This fresh retelling comes from Academy Award winner Luke Matheny (Ghostwriter) and is executive produced in collaboration with Sesame Workshop.
The project features a strong voice cast that includes Amy Adams as Charlotte, Elijah Wood as Adult Wilbur, Griffin Robert Faulkner as Young Wilbur, and Jean Smart as the narrator.
Rounding out the ensemble are Cynthia Erivo as Goose, Natalie Chan as Fern, Danny Trejo as Gander, Randall Park as Templeton, Chris Diamantopoulos as Homer, Rosario Dawson as Edith, Ana Ortiz as Dolores, Tom Everett Scott as John, Leith Burke as George, Keith David as Old Sheep, Patricia Richardson as Widow Fussy, and Dee Bradley Baker voicing the animals.
The series is aiming to capture the same themes of friendship, courage, and kindness that made the book such a staple for generations. Charlotte’s Web follows the gentle Wilbur as he finds an unlikely ally in Charlotte, who sets out to save him with her clever web-spun words.
“This adaptation has been years in the making, and every detail reflects our passion for E.B. White’s novel, which has touched generations,” said Kay Wilson Stallings, EVP, Chief Creative and Production Officer at Sesame Workshop.
“With this extraordinary cast, we’ve created a retelling of this story that celebrates friendship, empathy, courage, and community. We can’t wait for families to fall in love with these characters all over again.”
The three-part special is produced by Sesame Workshop with Luke Matheny serving as showrunner, executive producer, and writer. Yurie Rocha directs, while Toronto-based Guru Studios, known for their impressive 3D animation, handled the stylized rendering that brings this new version to life.
Fans won’t have to wait long to revisit the barnyard magic of Charlotte’s Web. All three parts will be available to stream on October 2, only on HBO Max.
