New Clip From Netflix's Animated Christmas Film KLAUS Focuses on a Centuries Long Family Rivalry
Netflix has produced a new animated Christmas film called Klaus, which gives us an origin story for Santa Claus. This film actually looks really freakin’ good. I love the art style and design of the film and the story actually looks like it’ll be fun. It’s also good to see a traditional 2D animated film again!
We’ve got a clip for Klaus to share with you today that two show two pairs of parents walking their kids through the history and stories of the centuries-long rivalry between the Krum and Ellingboe families.
The holiday comedy was directed by Despicable Me co-creator Sergio Pablos, and it also features a great cast that includes Jason Schwartzman, J.K. Simmons, Rashida Jones, Joan Cusack, Will Sasso, and Norm Macdonald.
Here’s the synopsis for, what looks to be, a beautifully made animated feature:
When Jesper (Jason Schwartzman) distinguishes himself as the postal academy’s worst student, he is stationed on a frozen island above the Arctic Circle, where the feuding locals hardly exchange words let alone letters. Jesper is about to give up when he finds an ally in local teacher Alva (Rashida Jones), and discovers Klaus (Oscar® winner J.K. Simmons), a mysterious carpenter who lives alone in a cabin full of handmade toys. These unlikely friendships return laughter to Smeerensburg, forging a new legacy of generous neighbors, magical lore and stockings hung by the chimney with care.
Netflix will debut Klaus on November 15th. Enjoy the trailer!
