New Details Emerge About KINGDOM HEARTS Animated Series Including Why It Got Canceled

I just learned that there was a Kingdom Hearts animated series in the works back in the early 2000’s. This may not be news to some fans, but it was to me. Nerdist recently posted a new episode of their show Animation Investigation and they got a chance to share some awesome and interesting details about the Kingdom Hearts series including why it was scrapped.

One of the coolest details, in my opinion, is that they were allowed to go use images from Disney movies such as Aladdin for the background and then they would insert the characters on those. It would’ve worked similar to those old Lilo & Stitch commercials.

The reason why the show was canceled was reportedly in order to keep a clean path open for future games. I’m a little sad we never got this show, but I can also see how it would’ve been really hard to not just copy the game.

Do you guys want a Kingdom Hearts animated series, or should they just leave it be?

Kingdom Hearts has already won over plenty of fans with its games, so why wouldn't Disney want to turn into an animated series? Hector investigates on this episode of Animation Investigation!
