New Details on CRASH TEAM RACING NITRO-FUELED's Adventure Mode Surface

Thomas Wilson is one of the Co-Studio Heads at Beenox, and he has given fans some more information about Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. Wilson wrote a post over at the PlayStation Blog about creating the game’s single-player Adventure Mode. This mode was present in the original game released back in 1999, but Wilson says the team not only brought the mode to Nitro-Fueled, they improved it.

Aside from unlocking characters like Ripper Roo and Pinstripe Pontoroo, players will be able to earn the boss characters like Nitros Oxide by beating them as well as unlocking new kart parts, skins, and other customization items. In the past, one had to beat Gem Cups to unlock bosses, and now those cups will have “a new set of valuable prizes.”

Another change to Adventure Mode will be the ability to change your racer, kart, or customization options at any point throughout. If you want to go old school though and commit to one racer and one kart, there’s still something for you. After all, Adventure Mode will have two settings: Classic and Nitro-Fueled. Nitro-Fueled will feature everything that we’ve talked about. Meanwhile, Classic will still let you unlock everything, but you won’t be able to change your racer nor your kart.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One June 21.
