New Details on DOOM PATROL Character Crazy Jane Reveals She'll Be a Harley Quinn-esque Character
As you know, DC Entertainment is developing a Titans spinoff series that will focus on the super-powered team Doom Patrol for the DC Universe streaming service. Several Doom Patrol characters will make their debut in Titans, but there are a few that won't show up until the spinoff series launches. One of those characters is Kay Challis a.k.a Crazy Jane and thanks to That Hashtag Show, we have some details on what we can expect to see from the character.
It's said that this version of Crazy Jane will be in her early 20s and "is aimed to have several personalities and being a bit of a Harley Quinn-esque character."
Crazy Jane was created by Grant Morrison and Richard Case, and she made her first appearance in February 1989 in #19 of Doom Patrol Volume 2. She's been a pretty popular character and one of the things that makes her interesting is that she suffers from multiple personality disorder, which was caused by the Dominator gene bomb which she was exposed to in the Invasion! story arc. She has 64 personalities and each one of them has their own individual superpower.
It will be interesting to see who ends up taking on the role in the series. She's such a fascinating character that has the potential to be a fan favorite.
DOOM PATROL is a re-imagining of one of DC’s most beloved group of outcast Super Heroes: Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl and Crazy Jane, led by modern-day mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder (The Chief). The Doom Patrol’s members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities—but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence—and to protect Earth from what they find. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them. Picking up after the events of TITANS, DOOM PATROL will find these reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with a warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same.
