Jeremy Renner's Accident Also Involves Blunt Chest Trauma and His Family Releases Statement
Yesterday, news broke that Jeremy Renner had a serious snow plow accident that left him in critical but stable condition. Not much was revealed at the time regarding the accident, but in a new report from TMZ, we’ve learned that his injuries caused him to lose a serious amount of blood.
Renner was driving his snow plow on Sunday around 9:50 am. Eyewitnesses say that Renner “was plowing the road about a quarter mile from his Tahoe home so his family could get out after a massive New Year's eve storm.”
According to a neighbor, the Snowcat plow accidentally “ran over one of Jeremy's legs, and he was losing a lot of blood from the injury.” Another neighbor, who happens to be a doctor, was able to put a tourniquet on his leg until paramedics arrived. In a statement released by Renner’s family, we’re now learning that the actor also suffered blunt chest trauma. The statement reads:
"We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2nd 2023. He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition. Jeremy's family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families. They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans."
The report from TMZ goes on to say that the area of the accident was treated like an active crime scene ... “with police arriving at 8 PM to impound the Snowcat.” The reason for this is because the Snowcat has extensive safety features, and “should not have rolled over Jeremy.”
Damn… this whole thing sounds like such a nightmarish experience. But, we’re all pushing for him and we hope that he’ll be ok under the strenuous circumstances.
