New Details on JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3, Which Concludes the Trilogy
John Wick's journey is about to come to an end. Director Chad Stahleski recently talked about the series and shared some new plot details on John Wick: Chapter 3. He also confirmed that it would be the last film in the franchise.
During an interview with The Independent, Stahleski talked about the film and shed some light on some of the things we'll see in the story. The film is currently shooting for a fall production date so things are moving fast with development. He says that the process has been very collaborative:
“Myself, Derek Kolstad, and Keanu are all very involved, story-wise and character-wise. We’re all very invested in this world. It’s a very collaborative, creative team. We have a lot of discussions about it. We’re pretty much knee-deep in it.”
He went on to reveal that the story will include details on how the High Table works, as well as the origin of Wick, saying:
“We are going to put in something about the High Table, how that all works. We’re going to put in something about where John comes from, and where he wants to go. I don’t want to say too much more, but it will be a nice completion to Mr. Wick’s journey.”
I love this world of assassins that has been created and I'm looking forward to learning more about it and how it all works. I'm also excited to see how Wick's story comes to an end with Chapter 3.
The director also gives an update on that John Wick prequel TV series being developed by Lionsgate. It was announced a few months ago, but it sounds like it's moving forward.
“Lionsgate is working on that right now. That’s up and running. That could be fun.
“There are a lot of ideas being thrown around right now. A lot of people working on it. I don’t know if they’ve locked in a consensus yet. But they have some very good people on it.”
Stahleski seems pretty optimistic about it and the team that is developing it, so that's good. I just hope the series ends up being as entertaining and badass as the movie. That might be hard without Keanu Reeves involved, but we'll see.
