New Details on Ridley Scott's ALIEN: AWAKENING Which Would Taken us to LV-426
I’m not the biggest fan of Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel films Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. I know some people like them, which is cool, I just couldn’t stand how unbelievably stupid the characters were.
Scott definitely had plans for another sequel called Alien: Awakening and a script for it was written by John Logan. That sequel and the franchise in general is still in limbo. We don’t know if this next film will happen, and with the Disney and Fox merger officially closing next year, it’s a film that may never see the light of day.
Regardless, some new details have surfaced for the film and it would see Michael Fassbender‘s android David finding himself up against the Engineers on LV-426, which is the moon where the Xenomorph was discovered in the first Alien film. Empire reports:
“Logan’s script would have seen the return of Prometheus’ Engineers, with that species’ survivors coming after the genocidal David. Setting-wise, Scott said it was obvious ‘We’re gonna actually go to the planet’. by which we assume he means LV-426.”
Seeing David find himself facing off against the Engineers on LV-426 certainly would have been interesting. Especially if there aren’t any stupid human characters making stupid decisions throughout the course of the film.
I would have much rather seen Neill Blomkamp get to make Alien 5, but that will most likely never happen either.
What do you you think of the direction that Scott wanted to take Alien: Awakening? Would you want to see this movie get made?
