New Details on the STAR TREK: PICARD Series and First Photo and Logo Revealed

At the recent CBS and CBS All Access Upfront presentation, fans were given the tiniest bit of info about the upcoming show referred to as simply Star Trek: Picard. As you can see above, the logo for the show features the Starfleet insignia forming the “A” in Picard’s name, and I love it.

I am really excited for this show as Picard is one of my favorite Star Trek characters. It’s also cool because executive producer Alex Kurtzman has talked about the show, and it sounds different from a lot of the Star Trek programming we’ve gotten in recent years.

The mandate was to make it a more psychological show, a character study about this man in his emeritus years. There are so few shows that allow a significantly older protagonist to be the driver.

What happens when circumstances have conspired to not give him the happiest of endings? Hopefully, it’s a reinforcement of [Star Trek creator Gene] Roddenberry’s vision of optimism. He’s going to have to go through deep valleys to get back to the light.

It’ll be very different than Discovery. It’ll be slower, more meditative. It speaks to the rainbow of colors we’re playing within all these different shows.

Picard is set to stream on CBS All Access beginning later this year. Will you be watching? Here’s a bonus picture of what was shown to those at the presentation along with a video presentation of the logo.
